The Library

The institute has a library mainly to provide support to the students, research workers and teachers.  An effort has been taken to update the library with reference books and journals for the research and higher studies.

Faculty :

For the on going courses the institute has developed a very good Faculty with highly qualified Medical & Technical personnel.  Most of them are professor of Medical Colleges

The Office

The office of the institute is run by five full time salaried staff and supervised by fourteen   honorary Council Members at 84, Dum Dum Park, Calcutta - 700 055, India. Registered Office :  7/96 Sahidnagar, Kolkata- 700 078.

Institute is publishing a very good prestigious and informative journal "Medical Technology".   Renowned Medical Scientist & Technologists from all over India contribute scientific article in this prestigious journal. It is circulated among the Medical and Paramedical personnel in India and abroad.

Workshop and Seminar :;

Workshop and Seminar are organized on all India / State level basis. It is a regular program of the institute. Topics was on AIDS, Malaria Control and Identification, Quality Control in Medical Laboratory, Good Laboratory Practice, Education & Training of Medical Technologists, Statutory Body for MTs, Environment & Pollution, Nosocomial  infection. Family Waste Management, Safe Blood Transfusion, etc.

Training:

The institute has a regular training program for Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology both one year and two year. It has under its recognition twenty institutions spread in different States of India for Medical Technology Training.  The AIIMT holds examination and issue diploma/certificates to qualified candidates. AIIMT is supported by State Medical Faculty and State Council of Technical Education. So far  about 3500 students have come out as qualified technologists from this institute.

The institute organized Continuing Education Program in collaboration with Essex Community College, USA and ACEEC, Jadavpur University, Calcutta to update knowledge of MTs.  Apart from that the institute has arrangement for  Associate Membership  and Fellow Membership  examinations for professional medical technologists.
