The Background of AIIMT
All India Institute of Medical Technologists is a professional body for medical Laboratory Technologists. The main objectives of the Institute are to promote the study and development of clinical laboratory sciences in India and to maintain a high standard of professional qualification and practice. In India there are significant differences in standards among the Medical Technologists. Considering these differences the Institute has adopted four grades of Membership to promote higher education to the prospective members. The membership are as follows a) Registered Students. b) Affiliated Members. c) Associate Members. d) Fellows Among the members Fellows and Associate Members are corporate members and all other categories of member have the right to enjoy their respective facilities.
The Objectivs
a) Objectives of the Institute are to develop Medical Laboratory Sciences for performing accurate diagnostic tests using concurrent skill and equipment and thus ensure better treatment, patient care, minimum hospital stay and conserve the working days
Other activities of AIIMT :
a) Publication of Journal : AIIMT is publishing Journal in the name of “ Medical Technology” regularly. Most of the renowned Medical Scientists and Medical Technologists from all over India contribute scientific article in this prestigious journal.
b) Conference, Workshop and Seminars : AIIMT regularly organize all India Conference, Scientific Seminars and Workshop of Social importance. As voluntary Organization we feel some social responsibility to aware people about health care systems. Representatives from different parts of India participate in those conferences and Seminars. A few examples are given below with the name of the important participants : Those conferences are highly appreciated by the National and International Health authorities.
Recipients Of Scholarship in Abroad
The President of this Institute Shri M. Chaudhuri, received Fulbright Grant in 1990 to visit US Universities for 3 months to study curricular development on Medical Laboratory Science. Mrs. Jayanti Barai, received a scholarship from Japan MLT foundation in 1995 for 3 months to learn Advance Technology in Medical Laboratory Science. Dr. T.K. Dey, received Nordic Award in 1994 to participate World Congress in MLT in Hongkong,
